After days of Jeb Bush defending his use of the term "anchor babies," on August 21, 2015, NBC news
reported George P. Bush said his father, Jeb, will "pivot" away from using the word "anchor baby."
George P. Bush: "My dad is going to pivot away from this use of loaded terms and focus on the complicated issues that face our country as opposed to other candidates," the younger Bush told La Opinin.
In the same August 21 interview, George P Bush said that Jeb only used the term "anchor baby" because that is a "commonly used" term but it is not a term Jeb subscribes to.
He insisted his father has not adopted use of the term anchor babies, and that when he used it in a radio interview, he was referring to it as one commonly used.
In my view, when a politician intends to "pivot" away from their own words, they are politically Etch-A-Sketching their already spoken sentiments.
Two days before George P. Bush said Jeb will "pivot" from "anchor babies," on August 18, Jeb Bush referred to children born as US Citizens from non-US Citizen parents as, "anchor babies."
On August 20, Jeb Bush defended his use of the term "anchor babies" and when asked if he "regrets" using the term he said "No" and said he did not know of any better term to use.
Jeb Bush: "No, I didn't regret it. No, do you have a better term? Bush said, according to The Hill, later adding, "You give me a better term and I'll use it, I'm serious. Pressed further, he said, "Here's the deal, what I said was it's commonly referred to that, that's what I said, I didn't use it as my own language."
But Jeb Bush was not "serious" because Jeb Bush continues to use the term "anchor baby" even after many people have suggested he use the term "babies" or "US Citizens."

Jeb Bush's political Etch-A-Sketch:
Jeb Bush now claims he was not using "anchor baby" because it is a "commonly used" term after all, rather, Jeb now says he was speaking "specifically" about mostly "Asians" committing "fraud" by coming to America to take advantage of our laws.
Jeb Bush: I was talking about was the specific case of fraud being committed, where there's organized efforts, and frankly, it's more related to Asian people coming into our country, having children in that organized efforts, taking advantage of a noble concept with birthright citizenship.
To take the heat off, Bush said everyone should "chill out" and stop "scolding" him every time he says something inappropriate.
Jeb Bush: "This is all how politics plays, and by way, I think we need to take a step back and chill out a little bit as it relates to the political correctness that somehow you have to be scolded every time you say something. It's not fair to be taken out of context. That's the nature of politics, but I just don't think that this is appropriate."
Yeah, "chill out" people "it's not fair" for people to pick on Jeb scold him for things that come out of his mouth that make him resort Etch-A-Sketching his already spoken intent. Like the time Jeb Bush had to Etch-A-Sketch what he
told Fox News in that he would have authorized the Iraq War, because Jeb, like his brother GW Bush, both think "nation building" is part of America's foreign policy.
Jeb Bush: I think, for example, our foreign policy ought to be -- ought to be grounded in not just the export of our own values or nation building. Those are good sentiments, but first and foremost in security and peace ... I would have [authorized the Iraq invasion],"
As it stands right now:
Jeb Bush wants to continue to use the term "anchor babies" without being "scolded" because "it's not fair" since that is not his "own language" it's just that Jeb Bush does not know of a "better term." And, Jeb Bush does not want Latino voters to think he means "anchor babies" are children of Mexican descent but rather -- Bush wants folks to know that when he says "anchor babies" he means children born of Asian descent.
Got it!
But wait, now there's this.
This morning Reuters is reporting that the National Council of Asian Pacific Americans is mad as heck at Jeb Bush referring to their children as "anchor babies."
In a statement on Monday, the National Council of Asian Pacific Americans condemned "the use of the derogatory term 'anchor babies.'"
Saying that because of actions ranging from the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882 "to now calling us 'anchor babies,' Asian American and Pacific Islander communities continue to be discriminated against as part of larger anti-immigrant rhetoric," the group said.
I expect Jeb Bush to "pivot" via Etch-A-Sketch style on his "Asian ... anchor babies" term.
Stop "scolding" Jeb Bush "it's not fair" --- after all, Jeb Bush is running for President for God sake!
