Mandate of opposition

Mon Nov 08, 2004 at 06:04:16 AM PDT

So far, 110,232,965 people have voted against Bush in the past 2 elections.

Franklin Roosevelt was on the ballot 4 times, with 77,924,965 votes cast against him. Bush had 41% more opposition votes in half as many elections.

Eugene V. Debs was on the ballot 4 times and never even received a single electoral vote. Yet, only 40,697,593 people voted against him, a mere 37% of Bush's figure.

The Repulsivecans's most hated person of recent times was Bill Clinton. Clinton had a mere 106,130,969 votes cast against him, which is more than 4 million fewer than Bush.

Lyndon Johnson destroyed Barry Goldwater in a landslide, winning by more than 400 electoral votes and almost 16,000,000 popular votes. More than 12 million more people voted against Bush in 2004 than voted against Goldwater.

George McGovern won a single state (plus DC) in 1972. More than 26 million more people voted against Bush in 2004 than voted against McGovern.

Walter Mondale won a single state (plus DC) in 1984. Almost 19 million more people voted against Bush in 2004 than voted against Mondale.

This is a mandate of opposition.

bin Laden forgery?

Sat Oct 30, 2004 at 07:58:22 AM PDT

I seem to remember that a bin Laden originally appeared, which got a news attention, in which he took credit for the 9/11 attacks. That tape got a lot of media attention and, in it, he said that he never expected the WTC to actually come down, so the attacks were even more damaging than they thought it would be.

But, then I believed it was eventually proven to be a forgery. Of course, the media didn't give that anywhere near the attention they gave to its discovery.

Does anyone else remember anything like this? And if so, is there any online documentation about it?
